What is Breakdown Cover?

Does breakdown cover include flat tyres?
Getting a flat tyre is not an uncommon occurrence. Fortunately, most Breakdown Cover policies will include this, so you can call for help and get your tyre changed if this happens to you.
Which types of vehicles are covered?
Our Breakdown Cover is for private vehicles, light commercial vehicles or motorcycles. This includes trailers, sidecars and trailer caravans. There are limits in terms of their size. Each vehicle must not exceed a weight of 3500kg, a length of 7m, height of 3m and width of 2.25m.
However, we do not have a limit on how old a car is, which means you can get your vintage or classic vehicle covered too.
Can I get European breakdown cover?
Our cover is designed to protect your vehicle while you are driving in the UK. If you’re planning to drive your car or motorcycle on the continent, then you will need to take out European-specific cover. You can usually choose between single-trip and annual covers to suit your needs.
Can you arrange Classic Car breakdown cover?
Of course! We know that classic cars need quite a lot of looking after in order to keep them working, which means that breakdowns are not uncommon. We therefore have no age limit on our Breakdown Cover, which means you can cover your prized vintage motors.
Is multi vehicle breakdown cover available?
Yes. If you have more than one car or motorcycle in your household, you can insure them all on the same policy. Just let us know when you get in touch for a quote.
