Some cars just hold a special place in our hearts, and for Annlouise Gooch, it’s always been Fords that have captured her attention. Her love affair led her to becoming first a member and then an administrator for Ford Club GB, an enthusiasts’ club that regularly hosts events and competitions for other Ford lovers.

As long-term partners of the club, we wanted to find out more about our client Annlouise, her love of motors and her role within the club.

When did you first become interested in cars?

I became interested in cars from a very young age. Growing up, I would watch Formula One and the British Touring Car Championship with my dad and cousin. As I got older, I started attending British Touring car races at Donington Park and Silverstone. I still follow the Championship to this day.

What cars do you currently own?

I currently own a Ford Focus Titanium X estate one of the joys of adult life! I really miss my Fiesta ST2, which I named Deadpool, but a change was needed due to family and work commitments.

I wouldn’t say that I have a favourite car as such. I just love Fords; there is something about that blue oval!

What do you like to do with your Ford car?

I enjoy showing my car at Ford Club GB events, so my husband and I try to attend as many as possible. This year, you will be able to find Ford Club GB at Cars in the Park at Lichfield, Ford Power Live at Brands Hatch and Ford Fair at Silverstone. We’re very lucky that for the last few years Ford Fair has been supported by sponsors including Chris Knott Insurance.

I also enjoy using my car for long drives, and as it is an estate it’s perfect for going on holiday in the UK.

How did you become involved in Ford Club GB?

I became involved with Ford Club GB unexpectedly! I happened to attend an event held by Ford Club GB, where I met my future husband. I was then involved as a staff member at a car event at Santa Pod raceway and he introduced me properly to the club. After a short period, the club’s founder, RJ Chalkie, took me under his wing and he showed me the ropes when it came to running Ford Club GB. It’s been almost 6 years now and he still can’t get rid of me!

What is your current role in Ford Club GB?

My current role within the club is administration. However, I have also helped with organising events for our lovely members and maintaining and updating the club website. I’ve also been involved in running the club’s Instagram.

If you could own any car, what would it be?

If I could own any car it would have to be a classic Ford. I do love Ford Sierra Cosworths too though!

How would you describe Chris Knott Insurance’s service?

The service that Chris Knott Insurance provides is amazing. The staff are professional and very helpful with all enquiries. No question is too much trouble. They are also quick to deal with any issues.

What do you value about the relationship Chris Knott Insurance has with Ford Club GB?

I value the time that Chris Knott Insurance’s staff take out of their personal lives to help and attend the club’s events. They’ve also joined us on our YouTube live videos. Not so long ago it was great to have Personal Lines Manager Ian Willis on camera to answer questions members had regarding insurance as well as discussing the relationship Chris Knott Insurance has with the club. The connection between Ford Club GB and Chris Knott Insurance is like no other.

Would you recommend Chris Knott Insurance?

I would highly recommend Chris Knott Insurance. Every year, the experience of renewing my Car Insurance has been outstanding. I have been insured with them for a number of years and I certainly can’t see myself changing insurance any time soon.
